Professional Grade Durability: The
Pump In Style ADVANCED breast pump is considered a professional grade breast pump intended for daily use by one mother. It is NOT a hospital grade breast pump. If a mother purchases this pump for her own use and keeps the pump sanitized and stored properly she will most likely be able to use it with not only one child but also with any additional children she may have at a later date.
If you expect to be exclusively pumping (baby doesn't nurse at the breast) then the Pump In Style is NOT for you - at least until baby can nurse at the breast. Mother's exclusively pumping woud need to rent or obtain a breast pump with hospital grade vacuum that CAN establish and maintain her milk supply.
More About Power Sources: This model comes with an A/C Adapter (power cord) and a Medela battery pak that takes 10 AA batteries. The battery pack provides up to 3 hours of pumping time. You may also purchase a
vehicle adapter separately that will power this pump from your car's cigarette lighter. In additional, it also contains a manual pumping piston that can be combined with the other accessories that come with the pump to make a single manual breast pump.
